Global Innovator Alexandra Rothos Joins NATIONS to Lead Client Care

NATIONS is happy to announce that Alexandra Rothos has joined our team as the Director of our Client Care Centre. Alexandra got her start in the language industry as a translator after receiving her diploma in Translation from Concordia University in Montreal. She found the translator’s life to be a lonely one which did not mesh with her extroverted personality - a natural development from being part of a big Greek family. As a Canadian born into a Greek immigrant family, languages and culture have always been important to Alexandra.

She joined a friend from her Concordia program at Alpnet Canada as a project manager to fulfill her dream of becoming part of a team, and from there she has gained significant experience in various roles in the Canadian and global language industry. These included roles at Lionbridge and Keywords Studios, where she honed her craft in localization and global client service.

During the course of Alexandra’s career, the internet began connecting the world and opening up the opportunities of new markets, a challenge the language industry had to help businesses overcome. “Translation follows the business world. I was exposed to different types of markets, and it was really interesting to understand and help clients build solutions to be able to market their product and their service in different countries,” she says.

Master of Industry Best Practice Implementation

Alexandra’s project management background provided an invaluable foundation for the challenges that she overcame at various roles. At Keywords Studios, she was responsible for synthesizing the operations at various offices located around the world to bring them up to the quality standards that the company was known for as a member of the global leadership team. These disparate offices had built up their own silos which needed to be connected in order for the company to thrive, a goal that Alexandra and her team achieved.

Her role began with this, and eventually led to a more consultation-focused role, where she was involved in various client-facing projects; from crafting RFPs to supporting sales to designing specialized solutions.

Transforming NATIONS Client Care and Processes

With NATIONS, Alexandra is refocusing on the Canadian market and helping NATIONS tighten its processes to better manage higher volumes and larger clients.

“The Canadian market is very, very specific and particular. It's great to be able to bring my knowledge and experience from a global service provider to one of the leaders in the Canadian market and help them scale,” she says. While NATIONS is very experienced in both the public and private sectors, Alexandra’s global private sector experience will give NATIONS the benefit of her experience to help us scale and eventually reach out to the same global audience she is used to dealing with.

Alexandra’s expertise in so many aspects of the language industry from best practices to localization make her an ideal leader for our Client Care Centre, which is responsible for ensuring the satisfaction of our clients through excellent communication and high-quality deliverables. We’re happy to have her on the team and look forward to all of the improvements she’ll undoubtedly make at our company.
